BANKSCOPE is a comprehensive, global database containing information on public and private banks. It inclues information on 28,000 banks around the world. It combines data from the main information provider, Fitch Ratings, and nine other sources, with software for searching and analysis.
Each bank report contains detailed consolidated and/or unconsolidated balance sheet and income statement totalling up to 200 data items and 36 pre-calculated ratios per bank. The data is provided in varying degrees of standardisation and detail so you can search and analyse banks across borders. "As reported" information is also provided so you can analyse individual banks in detail. In addition to the existing ratios you can also create your own that you can display in the reports and also use in your searches and analyses.

BANKSCOPE also provides:
- Ratings, rating reports, country risk ratings and reports - ratings are provided by 4 agencies and a total of 18 ratings are available
- Ownership – researched by BvDEP this section lists a bank’s shareholders, banking subsidiaries and non-banking subsidiaries
- Security and price information
- News
- Scanned images of the annual or interim accounts as published by the bank

Each bank is part of a default peer group; integral graphs illustrate its position in this peer group. A tree diagram instantly illustrates the structure of the group.

Integral analysis software allows you to compare banks against each other and produce tables and graphs to illustrate your results. These can be downloaded into most packages.

Further features include: an Addin function that facilitates the analysis of "live" data from BANKSCOPE within Excel/Access and BvDEP’s matching software, which allows you to compare your own database records with those that also occur in BANKSCOPE and update or enhance your data accordingly.

BANKSCOPE is available on DVD-ROM, on the internet or it can be installed on your corporate intranet. BANKSCOPE can also be combined with other data sources and bespoke software to create a customised credit solution using BvDEP’s FACT.
